Shade Seating

If you are looking for seats in the shade at Turner Field, you want to avoid any field section down the first baseline. These sections are in direct sunlight until about 7:30. Also, the 200 level sections in the upper rows are covered from the seats above, which is nice if you get some rain at the game.

Field Dimensions

As mentioned Turner Field is a converted track stadium from the 1996 Olympics, but despite that it is still a very nice park with average dimensions. It is 335ft (from home plate) to Left Field, 380ft to Left-Center, 401ft to Center, 390ft to Right Center, and 330ft to Left-Field. It is 43ft from home plate to the backstop.

Overview

Turner Field or Centennial Olympic Stadium was constructed in 1993 for 1996 Olympics in Atlanta, Georgia. In 1997 the park was converted and renamed Turner Field, the home of the MLB's Atlanta Braves. The Braves will be moving to a new park in Cobb County in 2016, when their lease with Turner Field expires. Turner Field has a capacity of 49,586 for Braves games.

Terrace and Club Level

The Terrace and Club Level sections at Turner Field are made up of sections 200 and 300 respectively. Many fans prefer the Terrace Level seats to the Field Level seats because they are more affordable, and in some cases offer better viewing angle to track the ball. Club Level seats grant access into the Turner Field Club level which includes upgraded restrooms, shorter lines for concessions, and a more luxurious atmosphere. Finally, sections 324, 326, and 328 in the club level are all you can eat (which includes beer!). Standard ballpark foods are on the menu such as hamburgers, hotdogs, and chicken fingers.

Seat Numbers

Turner Field has one of the more unique seat number breakdowns for any arena or stadium. Each section at Turner Field is split in the middle, with seats on either side of the stairs. Seat number 1 on either side (right or left) is always the seat closest to the stairs. Single digit seat numbers are located on the right side of section (1-8) and three digit seat numbers are located on the left side of a section (101-108). Typically there are 8 seats on each side of a section in a given row, although in some sections/rows there can be as many as 12.

Dugouts and Bullpens

The Atlanta Braves dugout is located in front of sections 109, 111, 113, 115, and 117. The visitors dugout is located in front of sections 110, 112, 114, and 116. The Atlanta Braves bullpen is located between sections 139 and 143, and the visitors bullpen is located in between sections 128 and 132.

Field Level Seating

The Atlanta Braves offers a variety of seating options at the Field Level at Turner Field. The Hank Aaron seats at Turner Field are located in the sections directly behind home plate (101-106) in rows 1-28. These would be considered a top choice for any Braves game. In front of the Hank Aaron Seats you will find the SunTrust Club (section 101-102 rows A-C), which is the absolute closest you can get to the diamond. Tickets in these sections come offer a first class bar and menu.

Best Seats

The Best Seats for an Atlanta Braves game (aside from the SunTrust Club) are located behind the home plate in the Hank Aaron sections (101-106). If you can't score tickets in those sections, seats along the dugout will do just fine. The best value seats at Turner Field are in the Terrace Level along first and third baselines.
