History and Overview

Located just outside Denver, Red Rocks Amphitheatre is a venue that should be on everyone's bucket list to see your favorite artist. Perched over 6,000 feet high in Red Rocks Park, the Red Rocks Amphitheatre has one of the best views and acoustics of any outdoor music venue in the world. Built into the surrounding sandstone, Red Rocks Amphitheatre opened in 1941 and today has a capacity of 9,525 people. With a panoramic view of Denver, the open-air amphitheatre is one of a kind. It has been host to some of the best bands and artist in the world including The Beatles, U2, and Sting to name a few.

Red Rocks Amphitheatre Seat Numbers

Seat one will always be to your left if you are looking up at the seats from the stage (or on your right if you are in your seat). It is important to note that there are no obstructed seats at Red Rocks, and it is all bleacher seating, although for many shows you will be standing for most of the time. For different events they will split the rows into sections and form Reserved and General Admission areas. The most common at Red Rocks is to have the first 40-50 rows classified as Reserved, meaning that your tickets will be assigned to a specific row and seat number. Then rows 51 and on will be General Admission, in which case you dont have a specific seat assignment as seats are determined on a first come first save basis. Another common layout at the Red Rocks is to have rows 3-25 be General Admission seating, rows 26-60 as Reserved Seating, and then the last rows go back to General Admission. No matter the layout, rows one and two will always be Reserved Seating. There are also times when the entire venue will be Reserved Seating, or the entire venue will be General Admission seating. In the case of GA seating at Red Rocks, you want to make sure you get the show as early as possible to ensure you are close to the stage.
