Dallas Stars Game Schedule for NHL Season Info

There's a lot to look forward to with the Dallas Stars this season as they play against opponents from across the United States. Here's a closer look at the Dallas Stars' complete regular season schedule.

Who Are the Dallas Stars?

The Dallas Stars are a professional hockey team in the NHL's Central Division in the Western Conference. The franchise started as the Minnesota North Stars as part of the NHL expansion in 1967. The North Stars made their first Stanley Cup Final in 1981 before losing to the New York Islanders. However, it'd be a decade before Minnesota made it back to the finals. The North Stars fell just short again after losing to the Pittsburgh Penguins in the 1991 Stanley Cup Final. Ownership's desire to relocate for years finally came to fruition when the franchise moved to Dallas after the 1992-93 season. Veteran Brett Hull led the Dallas Stars to their first Stanley Cup Final in 1999. The franchise won its first championship by defeating the Buffalo Sabres, prompting many to wonder whether this could be just the start of something special for the Stars. Dallas' bid for a repeat, however, was foiled by the New Jersey Devils in the 2000 Stanley Cup Final. The Stars made solid postseason runs for the next seven years before hitting a skid. Unfortunately, the organization missed the playoffs eight times in a 10-year stretch from 2009 to 2018. The Stars finally made it back to the Stanley Cup Final in 2020 only to lose to the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Dallas Stars Schedule

The Stars are hoping for an exciting season. Two seasons removed from a Stanley Cup Final appearance, head coach Rick Bowness has the pieces to return to the postseason. Dallas sputtered to a losing record in the 2020 season thanks to injuries to two pivotal players. Offensive weapons Tyler Seguin and Alexander Radulov played a combined 14 games in the abbreviated 56-game season last year. Both are healthy and expected to make significant contributions during the next season. Seguin and Radulov will be welcomed back to a team that played in a league-high 14 overtime games and shootouts last season. Although Dallas has 12 players over the age of 30, the roster also has promising pieces like Jason Robertson, Denis Gurianov, Roope Hintz, and Miro Heiskanen. Joe Pavelski, who had a team-high 51 points during the 2020-21 season, is also back. The Stars' longest homestand is only four games. Dallas will play four consecutive games at the American Airlines Center twice. They'll face the Washington Capitals, Boston Bruins, Calgary Flames, and Winnipeg Jets in a quartet of games starting in late January. In April, the Stars will close out the 2021-22 season with a four-game homestand against the Seattle Kraken, Vegas Golden Knights, Arizona Coyotes, and Anaheim Ducks. Dallas will also have four-game road trips in October, January, March, and April. The NHL will take a two-week break from Feb. 7 to 22, 2022, after the All-Star Weekend in Las Vegas on Feb. 4 and 5. The league will accommodate players participating in the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing by pressing pause on the schedule. The NHL and players association have the autonomy not to send their players to the Winter Games due to COVID-19 concerns. If that happens, the NHL will revise the regular-season schedule.
