Overview

Nationwide Arena is located at 100 West Nationwide Boulevard in Columbus Ohio, and is home ot the Columbus Blue Jackets of the NHL. Nationwide Arena was contructed on the site of the former Ohio Penitentiary, and some fans and employees claim to experience paranormal activites at the arena. Nationwide Arena has a capcity of 19,144 for Blue Jacket games, and holds 21,000 for concerts.

Benches and Scoring Zone

The Columbus Blue Jackets bench is located in front of section 103, and the vistors bench is located in front of section 104. The Blue Jackets shoot twice at the net in front of section 109, and the penalty box is located in between sections 114-115.

Club Seating

Nationwide Arena offers Club Seating for Blue Jackets games, which are located in between the 100 and 200 levels in sections C1-C13. Seating in the club level (loge boxes or terrace tables) includes access to the Pizzuti Club Lounge, in seat wait-service, and peraonl flat screen TV. The sections are open so you still feel apart of the action, and the open concourse allows for guest to mingle while still enjoying the Blue Jackets game.

Seat Numbers

Nationwide Arena follows the standard sports arena pattern in that the lowest seat number in a given section will be closest to the adjacent lower section. The same rule applies for the 100s and 200s sections. For example, seat 1 in Section 104 would be closest to the highest seat number in section 103 (seat 20), or the highest seat number in Section 104 (seat 20) would be closest to seat number 1 in section 105. The lower level sections typically have 20 seats per row, and between 17 and 27 seats per row in the upper level sideline sections. The corner sections in both levels have seat numbers that vary depending on the width of the section.

Best Seats

The best seats for any hockey game are more debatable than other sporting event, but the all inclusive seats mentioned above are the clear Best Seats for a Columbus Blue Jackets game. At the end of the day it is all up to personal preferrence, but generally speaking if you cannot score all inclusive tickets, or front row tickets on the glass in one of the scoring zones, you want to sit above row 10 (J) in the lower level so you can see the plays develop. Sections 105 and 113 (located in the Blue Jackets scoring zone) are a great option for any Jackets fan. However some fans prefer to sit behind the net for Blue Jackets games, while other fans prefer to sit in the corners so they can watch the puck cross the goal line.
