Seat Numbers at Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum

The seat numbers at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum are a little bit different than your typical venue. Seat 1 is always on the aisle closest to the lower numbered section adjacent to it (or on the right side of the section when facing the field). So for example seat 1 is section 10 will be on the aisle closest to section 9. On the other aisle you will find seat 101, which is closest to the high numbered section adjacent to it (or on the left side of the section when facing the field). If you have seat 1 or 101 you will be sitting on the aisle. The higher your seat number, the closer you are to the center of the section.

Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum Stadium History and Overview

The Los Angeles Coliseum is home to the University of Southern California Trojans football team as well as the interim home to the Los Angeles Rams for the 2016-2018 season while their new stadium is being built in Inglewood, CA. The stadium was opened all the way back in 1923 and previously served as home to the Rams from 1946-1979 during the franchise's first stink in LA.

Parking and Transportation at Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum

The Classic Parking Garage at Lot (3208 Royal St) by Shrine Auditorium is a the best place to park for games at LA Coliseum. It's nearly a mile walk to the gate, but will provide an easier exit than those who had parked closed to the venue. A good option for public parking is to park near the Los Angeles Convention Center and then take the Metro Express from the Pico Station to LA Coliseum. You can find public parking on SpotHero at the LA Convention Center or Pico Station.

The Rams' bench is located in front of sections 6-8, while the visitor's bench will be located in front of sections 21-23.

Best Seats at LA Memorial Coliseum

The best seats at the LA Coliseum are located in sections 6-7 and 22-23, which are the closest to midfield. However you do want to make sure you sit above row 10 in these sections or any others. The reason is there is a very gradual slope to the Coliseum, making it difficult to see the action in the first 10 rows. Ideally you would want to sit in between rows 15-40 for optimal sight lines for Los Angeles Rams games.

Unlike traditional stadiums, the Coliseum only is not tiered and just has one bowl of seating, with 93 rows per section. To make it a bit easier to reference what would be considered an upper or level seat, think of it as rows 1-40 as the lower tier, rows 41-70 as the middle tier, and rows 71-93 as the upper tier. Also, it's important to keep in mind that the bowl shape pushes fans farther out from the field as the row increases more so than it pushes them up. In more modern stadiums, the slope is much steeper so you are moving higher up from the field than farther out from it when the row increases.
