Seats in Shade

If you are looking to sit in the shade for a Chicago White Sox game at US Cellular Field, you should stick to seats on the first base side of the stadium. Due to the design of US Cellular Field, there is little to no hangover from the sections above, so sitting in the final rows in the lower level sections won't necessarily protect you from the sun. The last few rows in the upper deck will fall under an overhang, which will protect you from the sun, but the view of the game won't be very good.

Location

The park is very easy to get to, located immediately off the Dan Ryan Expressway. If you’re taking the train, it’s a half a block at most from the Red Line. There are stellar parking attendants working like crazy to get you to where you need to be, so no driving around endlessly to find that lost spot.

Dugouts and Bullpens

The Chicago White Sox dugout is located in front of sections 137-143, and the visitors dugout is located in front of sections 121-127. The Chicago White Sox bullpen is located in front of sections 156-158, and the visitors bullpen is located in front of sections 104-105.

Upper Deck

Most of the seating on the Upper Deck is pretty restrictive. Once seated there, you will not be allowed on the lower concourse. The most affordable seats in the house are located on the Upper Deck and don’t offer as good a view as one might have while seated on the lower levels. The upper deck is also much farther off the field than most other stadiums, and fans have complained that it is sloped to steep, so if you have a fear of heights this is not the place for you.

Premium Seating

The Chicago White Sox offer a few premium seating options at US Cellular Field. The United Scout Seats, located directly behind home plate, offer the best view in the house and include amenities such as access to a plush lounge, open bar, and pre-game buffet. The LG Skyline Club seats are located along the first and third baselines, and include amenities like climate controlled viewing and waited service, as well as a lounge and bar with HD televisions.

Guaranteed Rate Field History and Overview

Guaranteed Rate Field (formerly US Cellular Field) is home to the Chicago White Sox. The ballpark opened in 1991, and holds 40,615 for Chicago White Sox Games

Best Seats

The best seats for a Chicago White Sox game at US Cellular Field are located behind home plate or along the infield in sections 125-139. Club level seats (300 sections) along the infield are also a nice option, as well as the seats up the first and 3rd baselines. There are no seats in front of the scoreboard, which means you should have a good view of it no matter where you’re seated. A unique vantage point is the two-tiered Fan Deck located above the centerfield concession stands. This area is available for private groups and parties, and affords a spacious seating arrangement for the more claustrophobic. The bleachers are great seats in the outfield, as long as you don’t mind sitting alongside the most fevered of fans.

Field Dimensions

The dimensions for US Cellular Field are as follows (all measurements from home plate): 347ft to Left-Field, 375ft to Left-Center, 400ft to Center, 375ft to Right-Center, and 347ft to Right-Field. It is 60ft from home plate to the backstop. US Cellular Field is known as a hitters ballpark, so get ready to see some scoring when attending a Chicago White Sox game.

Seat Numbers

US Cellular Field follows the standard venue seat number logic, in that seat number 1 will always be closest to the lower number section adjacent to it. For example, seat number 1 in section 120 will be closest to the highest seat number in section 119, and the highest seat number in section 120 will be adjacent to seat number 1 in section 121.

Family Fun

There are other things you can do at US Cellular Field besides watching the Chicago White Sox, which makes bringing the family that much easier. The White Sox have speed pitch machines near sections 162 and 524, and the Rookie's Club (near sections 101 and 540) is full of great food just for kids. Also every Sunday home game, kids 14 and under have the opportunity to run the bases after the game!
