History and Overview

The Gexa Energy Pavilion opened in 1988 and is located inside Fair Park in Dallas,Texas. Fair Park is a National Historic Landmark that is home to a number of other significant structures in Dallas such as the Cotton Bowl. The Gexa Energy pavilion has a capacity of 20,000 with 7,500 reserve seats under the pavilion and can hold an additional 12,500 on the lawn. Having gone through numerous name changes over the years, the "Gexaplex" has hosted many famous artist such as Coldplay, The Police, and Elton John.

With a capacity of 12,500 on the lawn, the Gexa Energy Pavilion has plenty of room for the concert goer who is looking to get into the show for as cheap as possible. There are no actual seats on the lawn, which is why tickets are the least expensive in this area. Most will bring blankets or chairs for seating, while others like to get as close to the stage as possible standing outside the reserve section.
