Seat Numbers

Minute Maid Park seat numbers follow the standard logic that the majority of venues use, where seat number 1 in a givens section will always be closest to the adjacent section with the lower section number. For example, seat 1 in section 119 will be closest to the highest seat number in section 118, and the highest seat number in section 119 will be close to seat number 1 in section 120. The 100 level sections typically have between 12-26 seats per row, the 200 level sections have between 15-17 seats per row, the 300 level section have between 13-23 seats per row, and the 400 level sections have between 12 and 28 seats.

Best Seats

The Best Seats for any Houston Astros game are located along the infield in section 112-126. The other field level section make for a nice alternative along the first and third baselines as well. Finally, the Crawford Boxes are a must if you want to pay to the price, since it is a view you wont get a chance to experience at most other ballparks.

History and Overview

Minute Maid Park is located in downtown Houston Texas at 501 Crawford Street, and is home to the Houston Astros. The ballpark boasts a retractable roof, which keeps fans and players cool when Houston is experiencing it's notoriously humid weather. The left field side of the park pays homage to the old Union Station by having a railway above the left field wall, with a train appropriately filled with oranges. The train moves whenever an Astros player hits a homerun or after an Astros win. Minute Maid park has a capacity of 42,060 for Astros games.

Crawford Boxes

The Crawford Boxes for Houston Astros games are located in sections 100-104, are positioned 19ft off the field. and are one of the more unique seats for any baseball game. The short porch in left make these seats a prime place to catch a homerun, which makes them one of the most expensive outfield seats in all of baseball.

Premium Seating

The Houston Astros Premium seating is usually only available for season ticket plans, which include the Diamond Club located right behind home plate. The amenities include exclusive access to a restaurant and wait staff, but tickets are very difficult to find on the secondary market. The Club seating sections are in the 200 level, although they do not come with any amenities. There are tickets in sections 233-236 that include $15 vouchers to be used on food, drink, alcohol or merchandise. When browsing tickets in those sections make sure the ticket listing mentions the voucher, because not all tickets will come with it.

Retractable Roof

The roof was closed for all but 13 Astros games this past season, due to constant Houston heat. However, Major League baseball as authorized Minute Maid Park to open or close the roof mid game now, which will result in the roof opening during night games, providing Astros fans a unique experience.

Family Fun

The Houston Astros and Minute Maid park offer an entertainment center for young children known as the Minute Maid Squeeze Play. The center is located behind section 133, so if you attending an Astros game with kids that need more than baseball to stay entertained, it would be wise to purchase tickets in this area.

Dugouts and Bullpens

The Houston Astros Dugout is located in front of sections 122-127, and the visitors bench is located in front of sections 111-116. Minute Maid Park has one of the most unique bullpen locations in all of baseball, with the visitors bullpen located inside the left field wall, with the Astros bullpen located in right center field.

In 2006, Minute Maid Park sold advertising on the top of the foul poles to fast food chain Chick-fil-A, which include giant cows atop the foul pole saying EAT MOR FOWL. If you are lucky enough to be at a game where an Astros player hits the "fowl pole", each fan in attendance receives a free chicken sandwich. This has happened a total of 6 times since 2006.
